Some of my favorite memories are building things with my dad (like a shed) and spending 1-2 hours a day over an entire summer stockpiling a giant wood crib for my aunt and uncle (lived with them on their property while I worked in their business and wanted to do my share for the free stay).
Most people see it as work. But the sense of accomplishment and value I brought with my own hands and labor felt so amazing. So much better than a new toy. I don't look back with admiration on very many purchases (can't even really think of any right now, although I'm sure there a few). But I often think about how great these moments were.
Love field notes. Keep em coming.
Thanks Andrew. You got it.
We crushed that half marathon!!!
We sure did! Thanks for kicking me into gear.

Great article! Enjoy the bike!
Thank you Rob!
I had some similar jobs growing up. And you're so right. I remember more about those days than I do about any purchase or achievement.
Excited to get back out on the bike.
I've always wanted to try riding a motorcycle/dirtbike, some sort of motorized bike. I've done extreme sports my whole life but just never these.
New life goal.
